My HCG Diet Review
When I started on HCG, I did not know a lot about it. I just jumped in and took the drops and followed the plan. This proves that you do not need to know a lot about it to have successful results. I lost 25 lbs the first 30 days. To date I have lost a total of 45 lbs, and I weight in less than I did at 15 years of age! I have finally reached my weight loss goal.
HCG Diet is not that complicated and is the easiest and most effective way I have found to specifically get rid of unwanted fat. The HCG Protocol Diet has been around for more than 50 years. Tens of thousands of people have transformed their lives with this protocol, so why not you?
Pounds and Inches, published in 1954 by the creator of this diet, Dr. A.T.W. Simeons, is the original book and it is widely available for free on the Internet. Everything you need to know to get started is in the book.
There is a lot of information on the Internet on HCG and there are several modifications to the diet, which if followed are still producing great results. Although the book was written for the medical community, it stills helps one understand why and how it works. If you do not wish to read the entire book but would like a concise, easy to understand guide, I would suggest “Beginning HCG Diet.”
HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone that occurs naturally both in males and females. It is best known as the hormone produced by pregnant women. During pregnancy, HCG guides the woman’s metabolism to burn calories from stored fat. Research shows that it works similarly in men and non-pregnant women to promote fat-burning metabolism.
Not All Fat is the Same
For good health our bodies must contain different kinds of fat. Our organs need fat for cushioning, but not excessive amounts. Our bodies use fats for fuel between meals. Fat lubricates our cell membranes so they may work correctly. There is bad fat and it is the fat that accumulates around the belly, on the thighs and buttocks, under the arms, and on the inner part of the knees. This fat is harmful to our health. This is the particular kind of fat that people lose on the HCG protocol. I did!
I have followed many types of diets over the years, losing weight, only to gain it back again. This is because standard dieting and weight loss do not get rid of unhealthy fats for good, but can cause you to lose healthy fats. Loss of healthy fat demands that you put it back on. Loss of abnormal fat does not.
Did I Starve on 500 Calories Per Day?
HCG helped reduce the craving for food by metabolizing my stored fat and giving me energy. What I did not eat in calorie intake, the HCG worked with my hypothalamus gland and caused me to metabolize unhealthy fats into energy.. Without HCG, 500 calories of food per day would have been a starvation diet. With HCG, it was not.
Is Fat Loss the Only Benefit?
I was on Thyroid medication for a low thyroid prior to starting HCG. I went off of the medication when I started the HCG Protocol diet. After 6 weeks of being on the diet I was called in for my blood work to be rechecked to see how my thyroid was doing with the medication. (I did not tell my doctor I wasn’t taking it.) Anyway, my blood work came back good and I was told my thyroid was working normal. The doctor credited to the medicine, which I had not taken in 6 weeks. So my conclusion is the HCG worked with the hypothalamus, which works with the thyroid gland and “reset it.”
What Can You Expect?
As long as you follow the HCG Diet you can expect results. You can lose an average of .5 to 1.5 pounds a day. You could experience hunger the first few days, but this will pass. The key I fought the most was the battle of the mind. I kept telling myself “it’s just 30 days” and that seem to help. Focus and keep a positive mind set during the diet and your results will be positive. An excellent book on how the hypothalamus work with your thought life is “Who Switched Off My Brain,” by Dr Carol Leaf.
